Moeru (燃える) means set ablaze.
The Kanji 燃 by itself means burn, blaze, or glow.

"The Five Stages of Grief" is [denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance are a part of the framework that makes up our learning to live with the one we lost.]

This zine will be focusing on the Flame Pillar, Rengoku Kyoujuro subsequent to his death at the end of the Infinity Train Arc.

Illustrations and stories may be about Rengoku Kyoujurou and/or those close to him experiencing the following five stages. These characters include the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjirou and company, the Rengoku family and so on. We will provide some examples in each stage just to give a visual or idea for our potential contributors.

Stage 1: DENIAL (否認)

Portrayed character expresses shock and denialThe phrases "No", "This can't be it"For example, Inosuke's denial as he witnesses Rengoku, a man with a high caliber of strength, dying before his eyes.

Stage 2: ANGER (怒り)

Portrayed character expresses intense emotions of rageRaising the question of "why", in this case why must Kyoujurou die, why would someone as strong as him die, why of all people should suffer such a fate etc.For example, Shinjurou Rengoku lashing out after finding out that his son has been killed.

Stage 3: BARGAINING (取引)

Portrayed character attempts to make a transaction to prolong life, or for another chance at lifeHope is a big factor in this stage, as in hoping maybe Kyoujurou is still alive or there is a way for him to live somehowFor example, Muichiro Tokito who has developed a close brotherly relationship with Rengoku, tries to glue together a shattered jar (symbolism) in his desperation to bring him back.

Stage 4: DEPRESSION (抑うつ)

Portrayed character feels helplessness and intense sadness, to the point of being in a paralyzed state (despair, incapacitation)Recognizing that bargaining is uselessFor example, Mitsuri Kanroji is deeply devastated over the death of her own mentor that she finds herself bedridden for a few days.

Stage 5: ACCEPTANCE (受容)

The final stage where the portrayed character feels relief or is in a state of moving onSudden emergence of understanding and experiencing pure state of peaceFor example: Kagaya Ubuyashiki burning incense as he peacefully prays for Rengoku's soul.

This zine will focus on Rengoku Kyoujuro, the Flame Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps subsequent to his death in the Infinity Train Arc. The theme is "The Five Stages of Grief" with the stages split in each sub-category: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
--Will this zine be physical or digital?
The SFW zine will be physical with merch and PDF. The NSFW will only be PDF as of now.
--Is this a for profit or charity project?
This will be a for-profit zine.

We will be setting milestones/goals upon discussion with our contributors.
Here is the breakdown:

All contributors will receive a PDF copy. However, we still need to meet a certain goal to be able to provide free full bundle copies to all contributors.

All profits will be distributed through Paypal, so you must have a Paypal account ready.

--Will spoilers be allowed?
This fanzine in itself is a spoiler, and so we advice contributors and buyers alike to thread carefully and read/watch the manga/anime if you have not done so yet, especially if you are sensitive to spoilers. With that said, we will try our best to keep all spoilers that happen after the Infinity Arc a hush-hush, especially for our contributors.
--Will you be doing future "Five Stages of Grief" projects for other characters?
If this project takes off, we will hold a survey for our next grief project and for which character/s you would like to be featured next!
--How will the workload be split between contributors? Is there a limit to how much they can contribute?
Each artist will be required to do one illustration. Additionally, they may choose to contribute to the NSFW digital zine as well.Each writer will write one story, however the word count will range from 1.5k~3k with a 100 word allowance and nothing more. Additionally, they may choose to contribute to the NSFW digital zine as well.Merch artists will be assigned accordingly. This will all be dependent on the results of the interest check and the applications we will receive.
